Look who got caught by the Memebox fever? With the amount of unboxing I’ve seen the last few months, I finally gave in and bought Memebox #8 and waited for it patiently.
In case you’re out of the loop in terms of Korean beauty boxes, Memebox is a rapidly-growing, leading e-commerce beauty retailer born in Seoul, currently headquartered in Palo Alto, California. Beauty blogs and web in general was abuzz by this newest beauty box subscription curated from Seoul. Even I couldn’t escape and had to place an order around February and waited for it for two months! Yes, that’s right.
The original Memebox comes with 4-8 full sized products and deluxe samples retailing from $23.00 plus standard shipping at $6.99. Because all boxes are shipped at the same time, it was almost impossible to find out what your box has in store for you. How thrilling. LOL.
Here’s my order timeline:
February 15, 2014 : order placed/received confirmation that it will be shipped on 25th March → April 03, 2014: received an email update with tracking rerefence for the package. → April 04, 2014: received package
I’m not too sure about their shipping turnaround since I would have preferred to receive my box sooner but it did arrive well-packaged and surprisingly heavy. Of course I couldn’t wait and had to open it right away before I could even take any pics! Breaking some blogging rules here.
And for your convenience I’ve included below info on the products and close up look to give you an idea on size, etc.
1. Flower Men Energy Factory Moist Boosting Sheet Mask-Hylarunic Acid 25g ($4)
[toggle title=”More info”] I don’t think PSY’s facemask needs an introduction at this point. It’s practically bigger than my face! But the mask itself is concealed in the bottom half of its packaging and the packaging itself is a multipurpose Psy’s mask — not sure where or when you would wear it, but go crazy! LOL [/toggle]
2. Hairrich Vedacell Hair Program Shampoo 100ml (full size: 340ml $23)
[toggle title=”First Impression”] The cure to your itchy scalp. This is super refreshing and revives your hair. I have been using this for almost a week now and happy with the result. It’s a 4 in 1 complete shampoo that’s free of sulfates, silicon and synthetic dyes and made with natural preservatives. [/toggle]
3. TonyMoly BCDATION SPF 30 PA++ Pink Beige 7ml + 1ml pouch sample (full size: 50g $27)
[toggle title=”First Impression”] I wore this BCDATION for the first time yesterday and unless you want to end up looking like a geisha, then you need to watch out how much amount you put on your face. Pink Beige is a very light shade and has a very runny consistency. I will do a separate review on this one with swatches comparison to give you a better idea. [/toggle]
4. Heart Face Ultra Pore Care Sleeping Pack 20ml (full size: 100ml $49)
[toggle title=”First Impression”] An overnight sleeping pack that’s supposed to keep your skin moisturized all night long whilst controlling sebum production, so you don’t wake up like a grease ball the next morning. ha ha. I tried this one last night and it has this weird gel-cream like effect. After an hour of application, I started to feel itchy around my cheeks, luckily this stopped and I didn’t wake up with a breakout. Phew. Guess I’m trying this again tonight. [/toggle]
5. Secret Key Snow White Cream 50g ($21)
[toggle title=”First Impression”] I have to admit, I was very skeptical about this product especially since there are so many versions of whitening cream out there that does nothing but break me out badly. But this one is different. It has lightweight formula and gives your skin an instant whitening effect – not sunblock or geisha white type – but just enough whitening that looks natural. [/toggle]
6. Max Clinic Caviag Massage Oil Form Cleanser 110g ($73.00)
[toggle title=”More info”] No wonder this box was heavy! I’m so excited to get the full size version of this cleanser. Not sure if you remember but a few months back, I was able to try this from Wishbox 15 and fell in love with it! The only issue was this is sooo expensive and also hard to find online. Thanks to Memebox, I have 110g of this product that will last me a long while. [/toggle]
Memebox #8 I’d say is mainly skincare and although I wanted more makeup products, I’m still very happy with the content. It came with the description card which has information on each product, prices and how to use them. I received 6 products in total with 3 full-sized items and 3 deluxe samples. The value of this box is $98 (full-sized only) and I only paid $17 with shipping including. Wohoo!
I’m also pleased to see brands that do not contain harmful chemicals plus the value of this box is definitely something to be cheerful about. Memebox since then has launched so many different type of boxes that pretty much cover everything, from skincare, makeup, brand themed and even boxes for men. So feel free to browse around HERE and you’ll know what I mean.
