It’s been a while since I shared something different from my usual beauty ramblings and while I was contemplating on how to even begin this post, I decided to mull it over a sugar-infused with unthinkable calories double chocolate donut, along with a special Rocky Road iced coffee despite the freezing temperature outside. Granted, regret will hit me later once I weigh myself at some point, but hey, right now, I feel darn good!
Before I get carried away and grab me a sinfully delicious donut again, let’s get down to how I’m re-evaluating my blogging activities this month and why every blogger needs a game plan.
Here’s a list of what I’m working on to achieve and please do share the things you are hoping to do better.
- Prioritizing overdue posts or reviews before taking on new brand commitments.
Things get piled up sometimes, and although saying no is so hard when another tempting product is presented in front of you, it’s totally ok to decline at times. Or at least give the brand a realistic timeframe without putting you in a difficult spot.
- Make the most of your planner and update!
I have a planner, which I bought not long ago, but have failed to update it regularly when things go haywire. This time around, I’m getting ahead of the game and planning my week in advance along with a realistic to-do list for the day. I was never into routine as I like to be spontaneous, but this to-do list and advance planning has helped me to focus a lot.
- Revise posting schedule
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from blogging experts, consistency will take you a long way. My post schedule has been erratic in the last few weeks and this is something I want to improve upon. I’ve been checking my analytics data to get an idea with timing favorable for my blog, so fingers crossed that I’ll be able to nail it and work on something that’s also convenient for me.
- Changing up blog series
Monday Mani is out, Weekend Mani series is back! We all know that this beauty bean loves to paint her nails. I feel that my creative juices flow nicely during the week so I will take advantage of this and share some nail inspirations with you. So if you’re stuck over the weekend or bored, you can get artsy with your nails instead! How fun!
- Bi-weekly Newsletter
Browsing my favorite blogs is fun but I also love receiving weekly or monthly email updates, especially when I don’t get a chance to visit frequently. With that being said, I completely understand that not everyone (including me) likes their inboxes flooded with emails, promotions and what not, so I vow to do bi-weekly schedule. This will contain posts roundup, updates and email-subscribers-only events and giveawaaays! Look out!
- Blog revamp and logo
I’ve been trying to make this happen, like since forever! It’s really the time and having someone trustworthy to do it so I can just worry about other things than my blog’s look. I even thought of taking a short break so I can give this my full attention, which I might actually end up doing. As you all know, I’m very particular with layout, photography and my logo so this is probably one of those goals that have been stretched out for so long as I cannot quite commit on the perfect design and logo that fits Sweet Jelly Bean. Any suggestions awesome beans? My hubby tells me, patience, my dear.
Like the rest of you my blogger friends or fellow readers, life happens. And when it does, sometimes we put a halt on things online, blogging included. But as my hubby always say to lift my spirit up, with careful planning and management, you can achieve your blogging goals, easily!
In the end, it’s about turning over a new leaf and not trying to compete with someone else. Instead, think of your game plan as a way of exploring your full potential as a blogger and look forward to the imminent reward for all your hard work.
