Attending events and being able to promote myself as a brand while meeting inspiring people in the process has to be one of the many blogging perks I enjoy a lot. Not long ago, I received a last minute invitation to attend a yoga class event sponsored by Total Beauty and Aczone brand.
The former is well-known expert beauty advice, tips and tricks as well as unbiased reviews on upcoming or with cult following products. Check out their Total Beauty Awards section. Aczone on the other hand, is very new to me and is a prescription medicine to treat acne in people 12 years or older.
Dr Whitney Bowe, a dermatologist, was the speaker for the event at Uplift Studios, which is by the way a fabulous and kick ass women-only workout place for those who love to really sweat it out and tone up. Located on 24 W 23rd St, New York, NY 10010.
The organizers of this sculpt fusion event were so nice, they also prepared healthy snacks and drinks (and exceptional treat aka white wine LOL) along with goodie bags that attendees could take home. I also had one of those fangirling moments when I saw blogger Keiko Lynn. She was so lovely and down to earth and was so excited that I get to hang around and chat with her. And can we all agree that her brows are on point??
When I received the information that it will be a yoga class, I expected myself to be meditating (and levitating with candles around — the works!) not catching my breath and pretty much rolled over my mat because I seriously got my butt kicked hard during the workout. Guess that should tell you that I’m not the fittest person, huh? The fusion should have been a big give away of what the session would be like.
Let’s just say that it was a very different kind of a beauty event, which I not only gained further knowledge on the main causes of acne, how to treat them, on staying healthy and fit but also for the first time, I felt incredibly amazing after the 30 minute intense yoga workout. The Uplift Studio instructor was uber energetic and lively, I couldn’t help but follow her lead even though I was out of breath! Good job!
Overall, I freaking enjoyed this event, I couldn’t stop talking about it with my husband when he picked me up. I also get to relived the moment when I woke up sore all over in the morning yet I wanted to do it all over again.
