I first started noticing the beautyblender in Sephora about seven years ago. It was cute, reusable, and most importantly pink! It used to be your only blending choice, but flash forward to 2017, and now there are countless knock-offs. There’s even a whole section devoted to them in your standard bargain stores like TJ Maxx. In fact, this past holiday I purchased two mini blenders for my bestie, a Christmas Tree, and a Snowman, from Sally’s Beauty Supply.
So do you stick with the original blender or do you try something new?
Enter the 3DHD™ Blender by Sigma. With the market saturated with blenders, what makes this blender special? The shape! Instead of a round, bulbous sponge, the 3DHD™ Blender has been geometrically enhanced. It is shaped like an apple slice with a flat base. What does this do? It changes everything.
Black or Pink? Which one would you pick?
Eliminating a section of curves on the 3DHD was brilliant. Now with one tool you can blend your foundation with the curve, conceal with the flat base, contour and highlight with the double wedge, and finally, perfect areas around previously applied makeup (such as brows or eyeliner) with the ridge. The angles on this blender offer a level of preciseness that isn’t as easily achievable with other blenders.
The 3DHD™ Blender is perfect for use with liquids, powders, and creams. As with other blenders, saturate the sponge with water and squeeze before use. It is advised to use the SigMagic Brushampoo (also available on Sigmabeauty.com for $15), which will clean all the visible and non-visible residue.
Available now in pink or black on Sigmabeauty.com for $15, the 3DHD™ Blender is actually five dollars less than the beautyblender. So you pretty much get a better shape and a better price. Two for one!
