- TIMELINE FOR MOMS-TO-BE
Are you expecting? Well now you can tell the whole world that you are! Facebook has recently introduced a new feature called ‘Expecting a baby’ on their Life Event’s category. You can now add your Mom-to-be moments on your timeline. This is available to all users that have currently changed to the Facebook’s Timeline profile.
You can share not only your journey with friends and family, but also expected birth date, gender and names. An option of who to share this information with is also available.
Momma Bean’s Thoughts:
Regarding Facebook’s newest feature, I’ve not really looked into it myself yet, and at this point, it doesn’t really matter to me. In fact, I’ve only decided to join the Facebook brigade due to this blog. Since, let’s be honest, it’s as clear as water that if you want to spread the word further, Facebook is the way to do it, too. Then, you have your Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, etc.
But I am not your type to overload our FB page with detailed snaps or story of our lives. And I’m sure you’ve noticed that in my posts or pics I’ve shared in this blog already. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have anything against those who share things that way. I think we all have our own choices and say to anything, and I simply respect that.
Some bloggers pointed out that Life’s Event newest feature ‘expecting a baby’ could cause problems if complication during pregnancy occurs, or even a miscarriage. Of which I can understand, since this is a very delicate and emotional moments. But as I mentioned, we all have our choices on how to go about this new feature.
It’s up to you whether or not to share this type of moments to anyone. At the end of the day, this option, and others that are made available online or any networking sites, are there for you to utilize, or not. If you want to draw a big line between going public or keeping it private – then be sure to make it bolder, otherwise choose the latter instead. And it might just save you a headache.
And oh, another good point Daily Mail has pointed out is – ‘is this just another way to sell more ads?’
Well, time will tell.
What do you think? Are you keen on this new feature?
Are you ready to go all out and tell the world that you have a cute bun in the oven?
