Traffic or stats, comments or interactions aside, there are a handful of things virtually that I simply treasure and appreciate.
As a blogger, I can get a little ranty in my head sometimes when things just don’t go as planned, otherwise I’m pretty much your happy bunny, or bean in the blogosphere.
Being self-hosted, I had more or less an idea what I signed myself and this blog up for. Free-loading days at WordPress.com were over, meaning some of their features could not be transferred along with my site. Reblogging is out of the question, and no Like button… well until a few days ago! (If I have a beauty wish list that’s getting longer, I also have a ‘blogging’ wish list I’ve just been ticking off here and there. 😉 )
It’s back!
- The ‘Like’ button is back! Yay! I guess you could say I went a little uber happy when I perused my Jetpack plugin and came across a ‘Like’ button? Whatt?? The WordPress or Automattic gods heard self-hosted blogs prayers — finally! I was told at first that, no, the Like button feature is only a WordPress.com user perk. Aww. But what a twist! And two thumbs up for an excellent addition. Is ‘reblog’ in the works? You never know.
And look, my first two ‘likers’!
Jetpack 2.2 recent update finally came with the Like feature — along with this article statement:
“If there’s one thing we’ve learned about the web, it’s that people really like to like things.”
So go on, you can give me some like lovin’, if you like, just like old times!

Useful tip: Did you know that you don’t have to be a WordPress blogger to ‘Like‘ a WordPress blog posts? Simply create an account over at en.gravatar.com — like this*, and you’re good to go! ‘Like’ is another way of telling your favourite WordPress blogs that you heart them, but words are simply not enough! Plus you get to promote your brand (see example below)↓
Stats: Over 388 million people view more than 3.6 billion pages each month on WordPress and no sign of slowing down

Bloglovin’ is on a roll!
Has bloglovin’ finally come to its senses?
- It seems that this popular platform, yet most of us consider as impersonal, has now made some advancement and listened to their avid fans. Impersonal, I say, because as much as I love the whole concept of being able to follow my favourite blogs from different platforms with convenience, I also would like to know who’s following me there! Before you could only see the numbers. But how are you able to reciprocate to those who gave you the love?
Well, now you can!
- I think this new features of being able to create your profile plus notification of who just followed you were recently added end of last year. Don’t ask me why it took me ages to find out, but I’m a bit behind with things lately. Oh, and you can follow blogs privately, too. Sneaky! :-p
You can check my profile here: www.bloglovin.com/sweetjellybean5 (see how easy it is now to give your link and not that mumbo-jumbo numbers??)
So, bloglovin’ will be joining my sidebar entourage soon for an easy follow and I encourage you to do the same for your blog, if you’ve not done so already. It’s as easy as 1-2-3 setup.
Change is good, don’t you think? With the exception of Facebook changes!
Little tweaks at Sweet Jelly Bean
And finally, after winning Sarah’s awesome giveaway of 1000 business cards courtesy by InstantPrint, I was inspired to redesign my banner and logo across all networks. I can’t wait to share my first ever business card here with you!
So yes, the little things, little perks and little tweaks that has to do with blogging makes me a one happy bean.
What about you? What makes you a happy blogger?
*(I created another Gravatar account with my Blogspot blog just to show you that whether you’re from Blogger, Tumblr or another platform, you can still use this ‘Like’ feature and let that WordPress blogger know that you dropped by!)
