If you’ve enjoyed my quirky rendition of ‘fruit salad’ in my previous Pretty Random Things post, I’m hoping that with this one, we can just grab our favourite cuppa, put up our feet, and just RELAX a little bit.
Stay calm.
I chanted this in my head countless of times this week. My other half told me the same thing, too.
And guess what, even the penguin told me so! And no, I’m definitely not imagining things. My Stay Calm book couldn’t have come at a better time.
This week has been absolutely insane that I started to convince myself that stressed is just desserts spelled backwards LOL, read: stuffing myself with desserts! —> ::face palm::
But… desserts aside, this little book has this resounding effect on me and I couldn’t agree more with the things stated here. These phrases are very simple, yet true in many ways and I wanted to start our Friday morning with it. For those of you who are not familiar with the Stay Calm book, it’s actually part of the Life Is Beautiful series written by Jenny Kempe, who, in 2009, decided to take a six month break from newspapers, TV and radio due to the endless bad news in the media. She then turned her focus to the things in life that made her happy; to friends and family, and to ‘taking time to just be’.
And the result? This wonderfully curated book of positivity and warmth to remind us that all is well if we just take a moment and breathe life as it is.
So here are just some of my favourites phrases:
Count your blessings. They are all around you.
Let go of stress.
Surround yourself with beautiful things.
Reflect on the miracle of life. (I love this)
Pick one of your many projects. Finish it.
Learn how to say no.
Spend your free time doing things you like.
And last but not the least…enjoy the moment.
