During the sunnier months of summer time your feet inevitably take quite a hammering. While your tootsies get to breathe and be shown off to the world this also means they are exposed, on display not only to other people, but to the environment (which can often be abrasive and damaging to skin – even during the summer!). Additionally we need to appreciate that our feet are not cushioned by our fluffy socks and sturdy boots.
So, how do you keep your feet looking good throughout the summer months? Follow these easy tips to keep your feet healthy and attractive.

Keep Feet Clean
Firstly – a pretty basic point to kick things off, wash your feet every evening and scrub them properly with a foot scrub. This will remove the day’s accumulated dirt and exfoliate away the layer of used, toughened skin. Frequent, sensible conditioning like this can actually considerably strengthen the conditioning of the skin on your feet – making it more resilient to abrasion without losing any softness.
Cut Your Toenails
Make sure your toenails are cut regularly, keeping them short means that dirt doesn’t get trapped and you won’t get a fungus infection. Cut them with toenail clippers and then use a nail file to soften the jagged edges.
Pumice that Hard Skin
Remove any hard skin with a pumice stone, rub gently so as not to break the skin. A pumice stone will also help to remove any corns or callouses. Do this about twice a week to keep your skin really soft and smooth.
Hydrate
Moisturise your feet every day. Use moisturiser especially for feet and give your feet a good massage at the same time.
Care for Your Cuticles
Look after your cuticles. Push them back with a cuticle stick and put some cuticle oil on them once a week.
Buff Up
Get yourself a nail buffer and give your toenails a good buff once a week, it will remove any discolouring caused by nail varnish and keep your nails looking healthy.
Once your feet are looking tip top, you can have fun making them look fabulous! There are some great nail colour ideas to be found by visiting makeup sites like www.myshowcase.com and you can experiment with nail art to really do something different with your toes.
Whilst plain painted nails look attractive, there are also a number of other things you can do to make your toes stand out from the crowd. Nail art is becoming more and more popular. Nail Stickers
Nail stickers come in many different styles. There are stars, flowers, half- moons, circles, squares and triangles. They come in all sorts of colours and shades and they are very easy to stick on and take off.
Rhinestones and Crystals
Give your feet some bling and decorate your toes with colourful glitter rhinestones. There are bows, hearts, diamond shapes and flowers, in silver, gold or coloured plated alloy.
Glitter
Heart shaped and flower shaped glitter stickers in all sorts of colours are fun to use as well as sparkly nail varnish.
Make sure, that when the time comes to clean off the art work, you remove all the glue and varnish thoroughly, to prevent any infection or nail discolouration.
Make your toes a talking point and enjoy the attention!
