There’s no doubt that I’m at least 85% skincare-aholic , so when I was approached to try Alpha-H range, I was very curious and thrilled at the same time. I did have a little reservation due to a bad reaction I had with a new product before, but we all know that with skincare products, it’s hit-and-miss and you’ll never find out unless you try it. Of course, if you know a certain ingredient to avoid, then better not take the risk.
Ever come across a brand or product that does not require any introduction? Because you feel that the result should be enough to speak for itself?
*spoiler alert*
Alpha-H Liquid Gold Anti-Ageing Cleanser is definitely one of them. But in case you are curious what Alpha-H brand is about, then I got you covered in my Brand Hi-Lite series here.
This review – and first impression on the rest of the set – will center mostly on this holy grail cleanser that I could never go without, short or long trips.
The key ingredient in Alpha H’s number one selling product Liquid Gold is Glycolic Acid. The best known Alpha-Hydroxic Acid that promotes collagen production, which is essential in rejuvenation and remodeling skin’s scaffolding to give it a smoother and rigid tone.
Not only that, Alpha-H Liquid Gold Anti-Ageing Cleanser will exfoliate and melts away any dead skin cells and impurities like a pro, ensuring that you wake up with a healthy glow.
If you’re a lather fan and like to make bubbles, then you won’t find it with this cleanser. What you’ll find instead is a runny, silky texture and a rather distinctive smell that I can’t quite put my finger on. Or perhaps, I just really have a sensitive sense of smell. And, that’s probably the only ‘bad’ thing for me when it comes to this product. Overtime though, you’ll get used it, just like I did.
Because of it’s non-drying formula, this is perfect for all skin types as it gives that hydrating finish after each wash. If you have an oily skin – and I tend to turn into a grease ball during the summer months – this really helps with balancing things out and improving the overall complexion of your skin, minus the oiliness.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, matte products have an amazing staying power, which means it can also be a pain to take off. I put this cleanser to a test – see below.
It’s great to use morning and night as first step of your skin regimen along with your favourite toner and moisturizer.
The skin feels moist and not tout after cleansing. One noticeable improvement and you will see below, is how my pores have been reduced, giving me a smoother skin texture, while at the same time, it has calmed down any redness.
I’ll be honest, I could never start my day or end my night without using this product. This has travelled with me wherever I go and just gives me that confidence that great skin can be achieved with very simple steps like cleansing!
See my first impressions below on the rest of the set
Liquid Gold Rejuvenating Cream (50ml)
This is best suited for mature skin, contains Argan oil, and can be used both as an evening moisturiser or day cream, if preferred. This is less thicker than most night creams I’ve tried so I wasn’t worried that it could break me out. I used this on alternate evenings and my skin did feel hydrated and supple although there was a noticeable oiliness when I woke up in the morning.
Liquid Gold with Glycolic Acid (100ml)
You can use this product after cleansing on its own or followed by your moisturiser or serum. Now unfortunately, although this has been raved by others, somehow this just felt a little bit too strong for my sensitive skin. It reminds of a toner but just a little bit stronger and since I felt that tingling sensation every application, I actually had to stop using this. You’re supposed to use this on alternate evenings and supposed to work as an ‘overnight facial’ to help brighten and revitalise tired, ageing skin and improve your complexion.
Last but not the least is Absolute Eye Complex.
I was excited to see this in the set since I’ve been looking for a good under-eye cream to diminish my dark circles. This gel cream feels cooling and somewhat soothing when applied and can be used as primer for eyeshadows, which is good to know as I love multi-purpose products.

Overall, I’d say that this set is still worth checkout out especially since we are talking full-sized products here (apart from the eye cream). This Alpha-H set is currently sold at £49.50, which is amazing if you try and work out the individual price for each item. (Example, Liquid Rejuvenating Cream if bought on its own will be at £44!)
So if you’re looking for a product that’s free from nasty chemicals and cruelty-free then Alpha-H brand is a must-see. For more skincare brand visit qvc.co.uk.
