You know why I’ve fallen head over heels with the fall season? Because of the purple, deep burgundy and violet hues I’ve been seeing lately — and I happen to be obsessed about this color. Ok, obsessed might be a little bit over the top but I really like this shade that I wouldn’t mind painting our room purple. But I might give our landlord a mini-heart attack if I did. LOL
So when I started going CVS-ing (no more Boots – it’s probably an equivalent to a CVS in the UK) I came across L’Oreal’s collection and this beauty right here caught my attention. It was the color and the name Violet, particularly . The price wasnt bad either for $6.29. In fact, this was my first nail polish purchase when I got here, thinking about it now.
L’Oreal Violet Vixen is your perfect fuschia-purple, that is said to be shimmer-free, it’s high shine and application would be easy-peasy. I’d be the judge to that.
But darn it, they’re right. Two coats are really all you need. Although one more coat wouldn’t hurt for a deeper kick-butt look, without looking too vulgar. I don’t know about you, with two-three coats the shade seems to turn almost burgundy-ish with a touch of red-wine (lighting taken into consideration -#3 picture below) and I love it even more!
Definitely have to give it to L’Oreal Violet Vixen awesome formula and for being a very wearable color, too. No wonder this received Best of Beauty 2012 Award by Allure, it totally deserved that, not to mention that the price is purse-friendly.
And guess what? I just have the right lip color that would totally compliment this shade. I’m sensing matchy-matchy? Stay tuned next week!Accent nail: 24k Modi Glam Nails
