Ok girls, I’m finally letting this out of my system and sharing with you my em cosmetics haul that have been sitting pretty on my desk for a while now. I have this blogger habit of not touching anything before taking a few snaps and then end up procrastinating. Bad. Very bad. Well, I’m breaking that habit and decided, hey, why don’t we start our week em-azingly?
Youtube sensation Michelle Phan finally launched her very own makeup line ’em’ last year, which both garnered excitement and a lot of whining. Whether it’s the cheap-looking packaging, ridiculous prices and the not so exciting range or color selection. Despite all that (and because I can be a stubborn beauty bean 😛 ) , during their crazy Black Friday Sale, I joined the em cosmetics wagon and picked up a few products I’ve been eyeing for a while.
And… I’m glad I did.
All I could say is that, there’s nothing poor about em cosmetics packaging, nor they feel unstable or cheap. To me the idea behind em cosmetics packaging is very simple, and that is simplicity itself, which they’ve achieved well with the black and white approach. The silver line around the logo accentuates its presence and adds sophistication while the embossed cursive script says modern chic. Very Michelle Phan-like. And guess what, I kinda love it.
As a matter of fact, I thought ‘em’ (means ‘older sister’ in Vietnamese) is such a clever brand name. A two-letter word that everyone will easily remember and also has a deeper meaning of its own that Michelle Phan’s wants to share with her millions of followers.
And may I add, my products arrived safe and sound (the box was at least 200% bigger than my goodies LOL) with them being carefully wrapped with tissue and cushioned with thick bubble wraps. Shipping took around 1 week or so and I was being kept up to date with email notifications. Ohh, the excitement, I tell ya.
(Apologies if my pictures quality looks a little bit off, Mr Sun has no mercy these days and I have a feeling he’s gone on holiday somewhere else so no proper lighting here, folks.)

I saw the video of Michelle using this concealer to cover a big heart shape in black I believe, and that completely disappeared. Even my hubby freaked out and was impressed at the same time. Ha ha. So I thought, MUST.GET.IT.
There was a time last year that I went cray cray over matte lipsticks and the result of that is this ‘hot’ pink bachelorette, of which by the way I might have found a possible dupe (a brand you are very familiar of) (review coming up) I bought this lipstick along with the great cover (the offer was buy $30 get $10 OFF)
What does a lip balm junkie love to do? Buy more lip balms! I wasn’t going to let the opportunity pass by when this pillow plush were on sale for $10 plus free shipping (normally $15 plus tax & shipping). I chose berries because it’s one of my favorite shades (of purple) and loved the color payoff when I saw a few swatches online.
What can I say? I could hear this palette calling my name from a distance. I’m obsessed with the purple shades. I think that should cover that. (paid $17.98 tax + shipping included! normally $28.00 + tax & shipping)
lash gallery dramatic volume mascara (black) from my ipsy glambag November.
I will be reviewing these products later on this week without clogging your feeds, promise! In fact, I’m just adding final touches on the photos I took the other day for my review, so watch out!
