Today, my feeds are clogged with pinks, reds and all sorts of sweets so I thought I’d joined the fun and introduce you to a few collection I’m craving lately, Sally Hansen’s Sugar Shimmer (rebranded from Sugar Coat I believe). It sure is sugary folks and has the right texture, just the way I like it.
I’m already a big fan of their Triple Shine range (check my latest swatch of Statemint on Instagram and you’ll see how awesome the finish is) and felt like I could do with another textured polish. There were 8 shades to choose from, and I settled with Berried Under.
But before that, I got a hold of their Sugar Coat last year in Spare-A-Mint and added some swatches on that here as well.
Spare-A-Mint only requires two coats and actually looks a bit lighter than the shade below. This isn’t my favorite color to be honest, but when I saw this for $1.50 at Target, I thought might as well try and see what the Sugar Coat buzz was about.
On the other hand, Berried Under ($6+) is totally different since it’s infused with mica for that glittery finish. Making it look more 3D compare to Spare-A-Mint looking a little bit ‘flat’, if that makes sense. However, with the swatches below, I did have to apply 3 coats, which is strange since I expected this range to have better formulation. Or it could just be me.
Nonetheless, this was a fun trial and I know I will be wearing more of Berried Under in the Spring time (or whenever I feel like it LOL).
Q: Have you tried anything from Sally Hansen’s textured polish range?
Psst… Happy Valentine’s (Every) Day here at SweetJellyBean 😉
