Blogging has given me many opportunities I wouldn’t have even thought were possible. One of them is being able to find remarkable and worth-sharing brands that your skin will love and thank you later. I’m referring to Pelle Beauty, your luxury natural vegan skincare brand that will help you get on the right track towards an enviable radiant skin.
If this is your first time hearing about this skincare brand, then this post will get you acquainted with its beauty philosophy, buzzworthy products and the brilliant Founder behind it all – Marnie Cipriani.
1. I’m so excited to have you here at SJB and can’t wait to hear some of your beauty tips, but before that, can you please tell us the inspiration behind Pelle Beauty or ‘how it all started’ ?
I’m educated in both business and makeup artistry. My love for the creative was more dominant so I pursued the beauty industry right when I got out of school. I’ve always had extremely sensitive skin. Prior to the inception of Pelle Beauty, I had to cherry pick skincare products that wouldn’t cause a reaction. I worked for a company where I could use their makeup but not their skincare. We all know that in order for your makeup to look good, your skin has to be in good condition.
Before the start-up of Pelle Beauty I had been researching & making my own products for personal use. When I freelanced, I found that there were clients of mine who were in the same boat as me, and it just started to catch on. That is when I thought about having a business. It took a long time before the business came to fruition as this is a very niche market and I’m extremely particular. It’s really amazing how many people I have met who have similar concerns.
2. We complain about the winter here (or at least I do – a lot. ha ha) but I can only imagine how cold it must be over there in Toronto… and with that being said, what are your top 5 Pelle Beauty winter skin saviors? We’re dying to know!
The winters are cold. Very cold! LOL. My skin type changes from combination to dry in the wintertime. My top 5 Pelle Beauty Skincare items (in no particular order) are our Lip Balms, Bloom Beauty Serum, Bloom Beauty Mist, Luxe Beauty Balm & Nourish Facial oil.
Outside of my skincare products, my other saviors are drinking lots of hot water & lemon, taking my vitamins & dry skin brushing!
Note: Her products are free from Water (Facial Oils & Balms), Alcohol, Preservatives, Dyes, Fillers & Synthetic Fragrances
3. As an aficionado in the beauty industry for two decades, do you have any do’s & dont’s tips for those who have sensitive or oily skin in terms of finding the suitable products or even ingredients to avoid? (My skin can be both depending on the season and it’s always a nightmare!)
Wash Brushes & Sponges: This is an important thing to do as cosmetic brushes & sponges are a stomping ground for bacteria! Even if your skin is dry, you need to do this. However, for Sensitive skin types, oily skin types or skin that is prone to breakouts, I always recommend washing your makeup brushes & sponges on a regular basis. I know that it’s an easy thing to forget to do, but if you could do that at the very least once a week that would be a huge help to your complexion.
Perm Papers: They are an amazing thing to purchase. They act as blotting papers for oily skin types. They are cheap so if you need to go through a few it won’t hurt the pocket book. If you have oily skin and want to reduce the shine, I recommend blotting with the perm paper and then applying your powder if needed. This will reduce any built up/heavy look at the end of the day.
Silicones, Heavy Butters & Synthetic Fragrances: If you have oily skin or sensitive skin products that are heavily loaded with silicones or heavy butters (think Shea or Cocoa Butter) through time can congest your skin. Everyone’s skin is different and can react to certain ingredients differently but from my experience these can be the biggest culprits. Synthetic fragrances can also be very irritating for all skin types and it’s just best to avoid them especially for your face.
Hands Off!: Be extremely gentle with your face! If you have a pimple, as difficult as it may be, don’t touch it, or force it to pop! Being overly aggressive is counterproductive and can also cause bruising. Also, don’t touch your face throughout the day without washing your hands first. Easier said than done, but it is important.
4. If one were to start indulging into Pelle Beauty products, which of your skincare line would you highly recommend we should try first?
I would recommend trying out one of our facial oil blends first. Once you use one, chances are you won’t go back to a traditional moisturizer. Our facial oil blends are like a lush garden. All of the stunning plants and beautiful aromas can make for some amazing skin care. We’ve captured this – plant based goodness and aromatherapy all wrapped up into one beautiful treatment. They’re a vacation for your skin. They are concentrated so you only need a few drops. One bottle lasts a very long time and the results are immediate.
5. I have been a big fan of all natural products and I’m curious to know if Pelle Beauty would be adding makeup to your already amazing line?
Well the apple never falls far from the tree. We are looking into this as a natural progression. One of the biggest and most important features on someone’s face is their eyebrows. They are the anchor to your entire look. You can have the most beautiful makeup application but if your eyebrows are wonky it just won’t look right. If you see anything come out first, it would most likely be something to do with the eyes.

I couldn’t agree more about this statement ‘in order for your makeup to look good, your skin has to be in good condition’. Don’t get me wrong, I love my pretty makeup and all, but having great skin is top priority for me. Although, I need to turn things around a bit in terms of washing my brushes and sponges more regularly, because I’m guilty of forgetting or sometimes, I get lazy. And I know a lot of beauty beans who are on the same boat with me on this. You know who you are. 😛
As for Marnie’s beautiful line of skincare goodness, I’m in the middle of testing Bloom Beauty Mist and let me just say, we can’t get enough of it! We, because my hubby uses it too! Now that says a lot! (FYI, my hubby has a very sensitive skin and he’s particular with smells, but Bloom Beauty Mist has an uplifting unisex scent to it, which I love and he doesn’t mind.)
