There’s a new box in town beauties and it’s called Handmade Cartel. This lifestyle monthly subscription service specializes in handmade cruelty-free products such as organic soap, natural lip balm, body butters and facial masks. They are eco-friendly and will surely appeal to the go green beauties or fashionistas or anyone who loves to feel and smell awesome.
Handmade Cartel was created as an off shoot of the Organic Loft by Alex and Lydia. After great success and having customers loved their products so much, they finally ventured out and created their own subscription service true to their original foundation – affordable organic skincare.
Disclosure: This post contains products sent for review consideration. No other compensation was provided. All photos and content are of my own and based on my experience.
I was recently invited to try their box (and of course, I said yes) and let me just say, April box is on point! It’s like spring-in-the-box! Before I could open the heavy package, I could already smell something quite fabulous awaiting for me.
Handmade Cartel offers two type of subscriptions:
- Soap Only (Month-to-Month): Receive 2-3 soaps ranging from 3.5 – 5.5 ounces (varies) for $11 (auto-renewing)
- Soap + Exclusive Deluxe Creations: Receive 2-3 soaps ranging from 3.5 – 5.5 ounces + 1-2 Sample, Deluxe and or Full Size Cruelty-Free Products for $16 per month (or choose from 3-month prepay $45, 8-month prepay $85)
- $5 flat rate shipping in the US (will be branching out into Canada soon)
I received the latter and boy, I’m ecstatic! We’re talking about five full-sized products here that will surely indulge your beauty cravings. And seriously, can someone already invent the ‘smell button’ app or plugin? We need it for boxes like this!
I love how the guide is actually pasted on the box, it’s handy and I probably prefer this approach than cards, which tends to get misplaced.
Now, let’s dive in and virtually sniff these handcrafted artisan soap bars that smell so good, I could eat them!
When orange and banana plus cream get together prepare yourself for a fresh treat. This organic Shea butter soap is a true delight, which I’m going to find out soon myself.
Orange Banana Cream Soap Bar 3.5 oz | Cranberry & Mandarin Soap Bar 4.5 oz
If you heart goats milk soap then you and Cranberry & Mandarin will get along very well, with its entourage of Bergamot and Fig for that perfect blend of spiciness and sweetness indulgence you fully deserve. My husband might call dibs on this because he loves Cranberry-anything.
Mangosteen & Grapefruit Soy Candle 6 oz
Can I just say that since I got this box, I haven’t been able to stop smelling this candle! My goodness. This hand-poured soy candle in Mangosteen & Grapefruit has totally swept me off my feet, all thanks to its refreshing scent with the right amount of citrusy kick.
Escapade Shea & Aloe Lotion 6 0z
I’m not sure if it’s just me wanting to hit the beach lately, but Escapade (Shea & Aloe Lotion) scent reminds me of piña colada (I picture myself sipping this while enjoying sun, sea and sand) and it’s amazing! I also tried this earlier and I find it to be cooling on the skin and non-greasy, which is a big plus!
Lastly, are you a slave to coffee? Have you posted (or liked) multiple times on Instagram the phrase, ‘But first, coffee’ ? Then Java Babe is for you.
It’s your all natural coffee butter that’s quite a multi-tasker since you can use it on your lips, hands and body. It has garnered praises already such as anti-aging, skin toning and highly moisturizing. And did I say it smells just like freshly brewed coffee?? Now you and your skin get to wake up happy and start your day the right way.
Handmade Cartel shipments are sent between the 5th and 10th of each month, (slightly earlier for this box – 4th) so if you sign up after 4th April, then you won’t be getting this box but the May one instead.
I really tried to post on this box sooner (I got this last Monday and normally I would spend a good two weeks before doing the unboxing post since there’s picture-taking, first impressions etc..) but my schedule was really tight, not too mention bad lighting and being sick (yeah, when it rains, it pours).
With that being said, feel free to snoop around on Handmade Cartel Instagram as they might give you sneak peeks on what surprise you’re in for May.
What do you think of this new subscription service? Are you a serial unboxer (because I am!)?
