Have you heard of ShuShu Paint? No? Me neither, but thank goodness for Tester Korea, we’re about to discover a new Korean beauty brand to love, muse over with because of their cute packaging, but more importantly, you’ll love what’s not in their ingredients.
Being a long time customer of Tester Korea, I was ecstatic to get accepted to their Real Tester Program to delve into products (of my choice) and share my thoughts and swatches here.
Of course I, as a nail polish hoarder, just couldn’t say no to this cute ShuShu Paint nail polish in Marshmallow Hot Pink. Spring is just around the corner after all so need me some coral shades in my beauty stash line up.
There are a few things worth noting about this Korean brand and their nail polish in general, such as it’s non-toxic and water-based. I’d be lying if the cuteness didn’t get me the first time. It’s formulated without DBP, toluene or formaldehyde and happens to be a peel off, although I’ve yet to score this feature in terms of how easy it is to peel or not.
One thing you might notice about this nail polish – not only that it looks pink inside the bottle but coral on my nails – is the richness borderline gloppy. It’s not as fluid as Essie, If I may, but I have to say, the color pay off is kind of impressive.
You can actually get away with one coat and still get an opaque result, like you did two coats. The color intensifies and in this case, turned coral when I did two coats. I didn’t go overly artsy as I wanted you to see the shades painted in full on my nail beds and just added a touch of gold.
Coral + gold are bffs, in case you didn’t know. There’s no strong odor and so far I’m seeing no wear after almost 3 days of application.
Needless to say, if you like your nail polish cute, eco-friendly, cruelty free, 3-free and has bunny (or cat) ears, ShuShu Paint is worth adding to your list of brands to try this year. A line of this in different colors would look very pretty on your vanity, don’t you think? Oh, the kids would totally love this!
You can pick them up at Tester Korea and they retail from $12 each (shipping worldwide available and comes with various samples).
