Wednesday Addams. And yes, it’s Wednesday. Trying to make a statement? Perhaps. I had one day where I could be whoever I wanted to be. Sure, I could have picked Wonder Woman, Tinker Bell, a sexy pirate (arrr), a mermaid, or a princess, yet I chose to be Wednesday Addams. Curious, huh?
Here’s the thing — and not just because it’s also my favorite day of the week — but as far as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to dress up like Wednesday. In fact, many years ago, I had all my gears ready for a Halloween party only to get sick that very day. Boo hoo! Now that I think about it, I could probably still pull off the look but just a zombie-looking Wednesday considering how sick I was.
When the good people from 3Wishes.com gave me the golden ticket, to pick a costume from site, of course I picked Wednesday Addams or gothic Wednesday.
“I can’t swim.”
“I’ll stop wearing black, when they make a darker color.” — Wednesday Addams
I have to give props to 3Wishes team for a well-crafted costume that could easily pass up as your Sunday dress to church. It’s visibly well-made through the stitching and how the dress feels on my skin overall. Let’s just say you won’t find this in Party City and definitely not from your nearest Dollar Store.

It even came with a braided wig with satin bows to complete the look! This saved me time from doing my coarse, unruly hair, which isn’t entirely black, for that matter.
You probably think I’m playing it safe with this costume and you may be right. But let me tell you this: apart from doing my best to look ghostly white during the day, I had to practice her signature look, which was unexpectedly hard especially since I had the giggles that day.
Also, having to park in front of a busy supermarket and travel the rest by foot to get to the park, I had both pedestrians and motorists giving me the stare, with a few vehicles slowing down to see what’s up with this girl. I even had an old man who stopped by during his jog and hummed the Addams Family tune!
What fun!
Despite my initial reaction, I finally warmed up (geez, it was cold that day) and got into game mode, thanks to my husband — my photographer of the day.
You know you’re having fun when you forget about the time and how hungry you are yet you still say, let’s do this again!
So, who are you going to be this Halloween?
On Wednesdays, we wear black (and twirl.. well, in my books).
Happy Wednesday everyone!
