So I’ve been keeping a secret… while at the same time dropping hints on Instagram recently. Today, I can finally spill the beans. But first, let’s take a trip down memory lane regardless of how cliche this is sounding.
Thanks to Facebook, over five years ago, about the same time that I started this blog, I came across a company. I applied on one of their review opportunities, but sadly, I did not make THE LIST. There were so many who applied (thousands), so I could only imagine.
You know, rejection is a bummer.
No sugarcoating here. But that did not phase me. I continued to slay Motherhood while at the same time, began to grow this blog. I REALLY liked the company, btw.
After a few months, I reached out to them again. This time, I showed the work I’ve done and connections. I told them that I would love to be considered if they have any upcoming review opportunities. I left it at that.
Next day, I got a YES.
Fast forward to now. It’s been five years since I started working for WishCompany (even while living in the UK) – you’re probably more familiar with their booming e-commerce K-beauty site, WishTrend.
And today, I’m starting a new role as their North American Affiliate Coordinator. I am beyond thrilled and grateful because I’ve never thought about this five years ago. All I wanted was to review one of the Korean beauty products they carry. (FYI: if you search ‘wishtrend’ on this blog, you’ll see all articles I’ve written about them.)
I’ve met Ryan and Eddie for the first time in 2015 in NYC, and yet it felt like I’ve known them for so long. Of course, I had to show them New Jersey – well, parts of Bergen County, at least.
As bloggers, influencers, or whatever you want to call yourself, I know that things can be tough out there. The blogosphere is way too crowded unlike before. Standing out is a challenge, but it is NOT impossible.
I’m hoping that with this role, I can help other influencers, content curators, and especially micro-bloggers to stand out and earn at the same time while staying true to their creative side.
Time is precious. I believe in getting paid for doing what you love.
I cannot wait to share what we have in-store for you. This network is more than just your usual affiliate network. And if you haven’t signed up yet, please do so HERE.
