I’m just going to go ahead and proclaim 2013 as The Rise of Lip Crayons! LOL. The new Wet n Wild Megaslicks Balm Stain aka Love Stain (?) joined the lip crayons parade to entice and confuse us beauties and make us think, that there’s no such thing as too many lip crayons.
I fell for it and came home with yet another lip crayons. Two, in fact. Lordy. The good news is, I spent almost $3 for both! Talking about awesomeness here.
So what makes it different?
Wet n Wild Megaslicks Balm Stain claims to be long wearing, moisturizing and nourishing. Its smooth formula is enriched with Acai Palm Oil which provides longwearing, lightweight color that won’t feather or peel. This range currently carries 6 shades as follows: Red-dy or Not, A Stiff Pink, Pinky Promise, Nudist Colony, Rico Mauve and Lady and the Vamp.
As you can see, this retails for $2.69 each but also comes with a $1 coupon attached to the lip crayon, which you can claim instantly. Great! By the way, Fergie in this pic is wearing Lady and the Vamp, which made me want to buy this shade, not that I don’t have tons of this color already. Blame it on Autumn. Haha.
I have to say, Wet n Wild Balm Stain definitely feels more moisturizing compare to my Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balms. It doesn’t have any noticeable scent but once applied, you’ll feel this minty (very faint) sensation, which of course, I don’t mind. That little minty kick in this product, I kinda love actually. And if you’re not a fan of that, not to worry, it does fade away before you know it.

The packaging might not be aesthetically pleasing as Revlon Colorburst or L’Oreal La Laques, I still love the fact that it has this little safety catch just around the top, which prevents you from accidentally pushing the cap all the way, damaging your lipstick. Now, that little addition is indeed useful and convenient. Wet n Wild Megaslicks Balm Stain was also wrapped with clear plastic packaging, which means, no one can mess around with them or swatch them in-store!

Wet n Wild Lady and The Vamp Balm Stain reminds me a little of Belleme Bad Girl lip crayon, which I reviewed here. Difference is, Lady and The Vamp is a bit on the sheer side and not the greatest color payoff for this shade. However, it is very easy to apply and does not pull or tug on your lips. Like I mentioned above, it definitely has the moisturizing factor and non-drying throughout.
Although color distribution might not be top notch for this burgundy-ish shade, you’ll be surprised on its lasting power. This can go for at least 5 hours and even after I wiped it off, the stain was still very visible! So it’s great for those who doesn’t like to retouch but doesn’t mind a hint of color on their lips towards the end of the day.
Wet n Wild Red-Dy or Not Balm Stain is a different story. This has a much better color payoff and although it’s not your raging red shade, it does gives off a beautiful orangey-red hue, which is perfect this holiday season.
It’s safe to say that Wet n Wild Megaslicks Balm Stain somewhat impresses me, especially when you factor the price. So if you’re not into lip crayons but have always been curious about them, then get your $3 ready to treat yourself and let us know if it’s yay or nay for you.
