After the “I almost had a heart attack’ moment yesterday, when my very own blog was on lockdown mode to tighten security, and also ‘banned’ me in the process (!), I needed my beauty fix today, folks. Had to take yesterday as a little break and while at it, started editing pics for today’s post.
I’ve been meaning to share this wonderful staple in my handbag with you and very excited that today, I finally can!
Say hello to Guava, the lipgloss name after a fruit, but doesn’t smell like one. Instead, it will plump your lips without the tingling sensation or irritation, while natural oils and vitamins help condition your lips. Sounds good to me, so far. And the best part, it’s non-sticky!
It has a simple yet very practical packaging, where you can actually see how much product you have left, plus with the brand’s name written neatly on it.
I was a little bit worried when I saw the shade because I thought, oh my, very red! And, although I have a growing obsession for bright shades, I don’t think I would like to walk around with something so bright red on my lips where you can spot me from a mile away, would I now? Luckily, I was wrong about this impression. Phew!
Check out the swatches. Is the plumping effect kicking in?
Guava has this distinctive watermelon-red hue with a non-sticky consistency. Application was easy-peasy and it produced a lovely glossy finish with a little bit of healthy tint of red. Just enough to bring my dull lips to life.
It didn’t have any noticeable smell nor it felt tacky on my lips after, so you can pretty much retouch whenever you like without worrying about residue.
This brand has impressed me from the moment I tried their Basic Starter Kit, fell in love with their Crushed Mineral Blusher, and now, with Guava lipgloss. It’s one of those makeup product that you can have on standby in your handbag for a quick fix or during those days when you just want to opt for that natural look.
P.S. But who says you can only have one lip product on ‘standby’? Stay tuned for Mighty Shine Lip Gel in Revealed soon to be revealed on this blog.
Q: What’s your favourite lipgloss? Do you feel that Guava lives up to its claim? Share!
