When I first tried Klair’s BB Cream (older version) sample, I fell in love with it straightaway. It was the perfect shade for me, didn’t break me out, had the dewy effect and the needed nourishment and SPF. What more could a beauty bean ask? Then, Klair’s decided to step up their game and released the new (and bigger) version this year. And today, I’d like to share with you Klair’s Illuminating BB Cream.
Is this BB cream going to tick all the boxes for me?
Let’s find out!
Packaging wise, it’s very handy, sleek and chicly designed, in my opinion. I love the black on almost-beige colour theme and the fact that all the details you need to know about the product is on the tube and in English. No more translation issues. The narrowly-pointed opening means you can control the amount and easily clean it up after.
I have to admit that when I saw the shade this time, I was worried that it could turn out maybe just a tad too light for my skin tone, but then again, Sua Young BB Cream is much lighter than Klair’s BB Cream, had more of a yellowish undertone, yet that worked perfectly for me.
Swatches & Coverage
Below is my left cheek’s before and after applying Klair’s BB Cream. Redness is visibly toned down, my large pores reduced and dark spots have been concealed with my skin looking rather glowy and healthy.
With the temperature rising here in the UK, I’ve been wearing very little makeup or nothing at all but BB/CC creams and a lipgloss. And I like my SPF so I’m glad that most Korean BB and CC Creams has them. Hurrah!
I prefer to apply Klair’s BB Cream using my F80 Sigma brush especially if I’m in a rush but want to achieve that flawless finish. But I found a much better application method for this one by using a wet sponge and combine it with a little bit of my Skin & Lab Gel-Oil. If you have a very dry to dry skin condition (like me) or love the dewy-fresh effect, you might want to try this combo. It just helps lock in the moisture and take the hydration level up a notch.
As always my humungous pores aren’t so in your face anymore. LOL. Klair’s BB Cream definitely gives off that natural-looking vibe, doesn’t cake nor feels heavy on my skin, which is the last thing we want on a hot summer day, right girls?
But how does it perform after hours of application and 27C later?? See below.
And no, the second picture is not me having a bad ‘oily face’ day. I’m actually quite surprised that the coverage is still there and my face hasn’t melted! Both pictures were taken using my phone with natural daylight and no touch-ups!
If sun protection (SPF 40 PA++), whitening, wrinkle care and sebum control are just some of the things you look for in a product, then Klair’s Illuminating BB Cream is worth having a look. It’s also paraben-free, no artificial coloring, no alcohol and cruelty-free.
You’ll have a field day with this 40ml tube (at $24.99) currently on sale for $17.49!! since a little goes a looong way!
Cheer’s to great skin this summer!
Q: What’s your favourite BB Cream or sun cream this season? What’s the first thing you look for in a product?
