Well, someone is obviously late to this whole Miracle Gel party line up from Sally Hansen. Here’s the thing, my regular nail polish and I have a very strong bond (it’s starting to hurt my purse and I’m kinda running out of space for them as well). I was never a fan of gel polish and to date, I only have one favorite brand. To be honest, I was never sold to this hybrid special (the not quite nail polish and almost gel polish) concept especially the price tag it came with. But today I got lucky with ExtraBucks (gotta love CVS man – it’s similar to Boot’s Advantage Card for those in the UK) and decided, what the heck, let’s see what the fuss is about.
I ended up getting Red Eye with the Gel Top Coat special offer because it only makes sense and worked out cheaper. It’s also the only color that really grabbed me from all the sets they have and seemed like a good-looking red. Indeed, I wasn’t wrong. I’d say this has to be one of the best looking bright (cherry) red I’ve owned and I kinda love it. That’s just shade-wise though. Formula and everything else is downhill from here.
Red Eye is a one-coat wonder although in this swatches I went for two coats just to see how bold could it go.
This features a flat brush to attempt an easy application, which would have worked nicely if only the bristles shape was not uneven.
The formula is definitely runny (and I’ve read the same reaction from other nail polish-aholics) while the top coat kinda ruins everything for me since it excels in smudging what’s on its way. I guess I made the right decision to not jump on the Miracle Gel wagon right away, huh?
