Hello matte lovers! Did you know that I had so much fun trying out Revlon’s Colorburst Matte Balm in Shameless? And I have a feeling that you will, too. This is the first shade that really caught my attention from Revlon Colorburst new collection.
It’s no denying that the jingle bells holiday is just round the corner, with Santa & his sled making its appearance on top of most CVS shelves (yes I’m becoming a CVS girl now). What can I say? It’s the closest store from the house! LOL.
And if you want to stand out and be merry this Christmas, matte might be a good way to go. Bring the sexy back this holiday with full on bold, matte-fied lips with Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Shameless. Your deep purple with blue undertones (correct me if I’m wrong here). It’s matte to the bone packaging and I think I like it.
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm Shameless is definitely a daring color and perhaps also not everyone’s cuppa. I can’t compare it to anything so far that I own since this is by far the boldest color I have. This is just straight on purple from the get go.
Again, the minty signature attached to Revlon’s lip crayons is there, but fades out instantly after minutes of application. Although I wish I could smell it’s mintyness forever. Did I say I’m a big peppermint fan?
This shade is buildable, but if you really want to get the most of this lovely shade, wear it bold with multiple swipes. You’ll love it and it will make the teeth whiter, too. Haha.
For a much better adherence power and color distribution, I would definitely suggest to exfoliate your lips. It will be worth it. I didn’t do it here on mine unfortunately, hence you can see some ‘flaky bits’ or uneven shade if you look closely.
Not a purple fan? But would dive in for some bright pink shimmer? Try >> Revlon’s Lacquer Balm in Vivacious << for a daring and lively pout!
But what about color transfer? Is this smooch-friendly? LOL. The kiss mark below will show you that. This is maybe a minute right after application with multiple swipes of the lip crayon on my lips.
This color lasts longer (a little bit over 5 hours but no meals involved — just water/juice) than Vivacious and surprisingly non-drying.
It didn’t irritate my lips so that’s a very good sign for matte lovers like you and me. The only thing you’ll notice is that after a meal, you will be left with almost no color at all and a strange leftover of the shade on your upper lip, well at least this is what happened after I had a delicious meal at Boom Boom Chicken (NJ) – of which by the way, was so YUMMY!
Revlon Colorburst Lacquer & Matte Collection is now being sold almost in most drugstores (mine was at Harmon’s Face Values for $6.99) and saw a few on Amazon.com at ridiculous price of $11.99 + shipping! O.o So, if I were you, I would check out any deals online or in-stores before picking things up.
Here’s what I added to my collection the other day:
