Grandeur. Sophisticated. Beautifully crafted. Tatcha. And without a doubt, the epitome of packaging perfection.
Inspired by a modern-day geisha approach to beauty that less is more, Victoria Tsai (Founder and Chief Treasure Hunter) brought Tatcha to life with simplicity, authenticity, time-tested ingredients and skin care philosophy, captured from the oldest Japanese beauty book, the Miyakofuzoku Kewaiden, which literally translates to Capital Beauty and Style Handbook.

I could probably go on and add more flowery words to describe this luxury Japanese skincare brand, but why sugarcoat things? When I could just say, I’ve absolutely fallen for their products and they are worth every single penny.
Before I was invited to try Tatcha Ritual Discovery Kit , I already bought their Original Beauty Paper thanks to Mindy Kaling’s Instagram post where it was highlighted. Curiosity got the better of me, and after a swift online transaction, a few days later I had my own set of beauty paper and their Classic Rice Enzyme Powder. One of the best exfoliators I’ve tried.
Tatcha Ritual Discovery Kit retails for $59 (regular price: $99) and contains four deluxe samples good for two weeks of usage. My kit includes One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil, Gentle Rice Enzyme Powder, Deep Brightening Serum and Moisture Rich Silk Cream. Products that are tailored for my sensitive skin. This ritual revolves around simple tasks to deliver pure, polished, radiant and supple skin.
The quiz I took on their site really helped with narrowing down the most-suited skincare products for me after sharing some of my skin concerns. The products are packaged in what I can only call ‘luxurious Bento-looking box’, which has information on the ingredients plus step-by-step instructions on how to use each product. I have never felt so excited just reading a booklet or guide card. And you know I’m totally keeping the box, right?
In case you didn’t know, they offer FREE SHIPPING for all standard domestic orders, 3 free samples for every full-sized order, FREE anytime returns for all domestic orders and skincare consultation. For more information on shipping internationally, read here.
These products contain Tatcha’s very own signature blend called the HADASEI-3™ Bioactive Complex, a wonderful fusion of green tea complete DNA extract (a powerful anti-oxidant that helps fight free radicals), Okinawa red algae extract and Japanese rice brand extract (both help with moisturization).
I cannot emphasize enough how these products delivered noticeable improvements during the trial period (just a little over 3 weeks). My skin has never felt so smooth, radiant and revived. Every product, simply compliments each other, from the cleansing routine, exfoliation, brightening to the final step of moisturizing.
One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil does a great job with my waterproof makeup without leaving my skin dry. The Deep Brightening Serum is a two-in-one spot corrector and hydrating serum, which offers a cooling sensation when applied. While Moisture Rich Silk Cream, a lightweight anti-aging gel cream, finishes the ritual with a soft and silky finish. As for the Rice Enzyme Powder, let’s just say I’m obsessed with it! I can’t wait to try their new Indigo Soothing Rice Enzyme Powder next.
If there’s a brand that captures the true beauty of less is more, it’s Tatcha. From its packaging down to the very core of its formulation and the inspiration behind its creation.
This journey with Tatcha’s products is absolutely wonderful and it has turned my skincare routine into an ultimate pamper experience. Who wouldn’t love that?
Have you tried their products?
